Setting the status of an object

Each WF case is related to exactly one object,  typical objects in pre-configured WFs are 'Projects' or 'Absences'.
While executing the WF case, the status of an related object might be changed based on an action performed by a decision maker.

Example:
In an "Project Approval Workflow" a project is created with status "To be approved".
If the Project Management Office (PMO) approves the proposal for a new project, project status can be changed to 'open'.
