PM Resource Planning
Content
Introduction
Resource Planning is supported by the following report:
http://[YOUR_SERVER]/intranet-resource-management/resources-planning-planned-hours
Absences
Absences are represented by colored bars in the user row.
Example:
On 2nd of March the user participates in a Training (yellow bar). She is also a member of a task
starting 2nd of March and ending 4th of March. This leads to a over-assignment on 2nd march
which can be compensated on 3rd and/or 4th of March.
Tasks <= 1 day
As you would expect: All hours assigned to a task with the same start and end date will be distributed over
the number task members considering the percentage as provided
Tasks > 1 day
In case of tasks with a duration > 1 day all planned units
Tasks including a weekend
Effort will be equally distributed over the business days. For Saturday and Sundays no assignments will be made.
Example:
The following task period includes Saturday and Sunday.
Since there only one member assigned to this tasks, this results in an over-assignment of 100% for user Barbara Breimann on 13th of January.
Tasks with multiple members
Total 'work' of a task is distributed equally over all task members.
Please note:
Percentages as provided in portlet "Task Member" are used to track overall availability for this task.
They do not represent the distribution of workload.
Grouping
Users are grouped by departments. Users with no department assigned (http://[YOUR_SERVER]/intranet/users/view?user_id=[USER_ID]) are automatically assigned to the department "The company".
A package parameter for package "intranet-resource-management" allows changing this setting.
Totals
Accumulated values in the "Totals" row are used for resource planning for groups of employees, such as for example departments.
