LDAP Integration

]project-open[ supports integration with several LDAP servers:

Integration with Microsoft Active Directory:
Microsoft Active Directory is part of Microsoft Windows Server.
The ]po[ integration includes several Active Directory specifc characteristics that will ease interoperation.
Integration with [OpenLDAP]:
OpenLDAP is the most frequently used open-source LDAP server.

Technical Details

]project-open[ includes a pluggable authentication mechanism, allowing to configure multiple authentication mechanisms.

"Drivers" for this mechanism include:

auth-ldap-adldapsearch Driver Package:
The package page contains details about the configuration of the Microsoft Active Directory and [OpenLDAP] integration.
[Generic LDAP Integration]:
OpenACS contains a generic LDAP driver . However, we believe that this driver is outdated, it is not supported by ]po[ product.
[Linux PAM Integration]:
OpenACS contains a Linux PAM driver . However, we believe this driver is outdated, it is not supported by the ]po[ product.

Please note that the installation of LDAP drivers can be tricky. Please contact us for consulting unless you have got a skilled system administrator in-house.
