Version 3.0.beta4 Release Notes

You are reading this probably because your ]project-open[ installer has opened this page during the installation process. We use this page to communicate information about the software that you are installing and to debug the installation process. Please see our privacy statement for details.

Overall Status

Your V3.0.beta4 is suitable for testing the general functionality of ]project-open[. However, it should not be used in productive environments.

Supported Platforms

Supported: Windows 2000 (professional & server) Windows XP Windows 2003 Server

Not supported: Windows ME, Windows 98

]project-open[ doesn't work on the non supported platforms because of an issues with the PostgreSQL database.

Also, we have had issues with the installation of ]project-open[ on Windows XP and Windows 2003 in about 20% of the cases. However, we have not been able to identify the cause of these problems yet. Please contact us if you should encounter any problem.

Installation Instructions

• Please connect to the Internet or to a local netowrk:
  You will need to be connected to the Internet or to a local network during the installation process.
  Windows disables its network services completely if there is no network connection.
• Please disable your firewall:
  Please disable your firewall (of your antivirus software or Windows XP SP2 etc.) while installing ]project-open[.
  We are going to install a AOLServer component on your computer that will need to communicate to the PostgreSQL database on port 5432 of your computer.
• Please use the default values provided by the installer:
  Please use the default values provided by the installer unless you know what you are doing.

Known Issues

There are several know issues with your current version.

• There are installation issues in about 20% of all cases on Windows XP and Windows 2003
• Locales and Timezones setting of a user modify the global system behaviour
• The included documentation (C:\ProjectOpen\doc\*.pdf) has draft status and is incomplete.
• ... (probably many issues not yet detected)

Please include a detailed description with your operating system version, the ]project-open[ version and any other details that you can get hold of.
