]po[ Filestorage

Main Controller for file storage/access related to users/projects/companies in ]project-open[.  Files can be associated with all system business objects so that for example an employee can choose to store all the copies of a client contract with the company, the project that it's related to, or to the customer contact representative who handles communications between the two companies, or all three, in order to make files more visible and their relationships more organizationally clear.  Accessing files can be done a number of ways in ]project-open[

  1. From within any ]project-open[ page look for the "Filestorage" component to begin navigating for files.  The Filestorage entry from the ]project-open[ home page provides a comprehensive content listing of everything currently stored on the system, while filestorage headers found on other pages will only present files related to what you are currently viewing.
  2. Using any web browser for a traditional layout view.  This includes Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.
  3. Using file client transfer programs like WinSCP to manage files.

It is not necessary for an employee to be physically present on the network to access or change files, so as long there is an internet connection present to connect them to main ]project-open[ server.  Before any user accesses a file, they must have their security privileges verified in order to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive files.
