GUI Configuration

The outward appearance and look of ]project-open[ is controlled by several parameters.  These have nothing to do with the functionality, and are meant to be used by a business in order to put their "personal" stamp onto ]project-open[.

Portlets

Portlets do appear on Portlet Pages such as the landing page for particular projects, users or companies.
Each Portlet Page consists of one or more portlets.

Portlets for all user / user groups are managed using the following admin page: http://[YOUR_SERVER]/intranet/admin/components/

Administration Portlets

A fully installed ]po[ might contain up 100 different portlets. Use the filters on the left side to limit the elements shown.
The very right columns containing either a lowercase or uppercase letter 'r' define if a is visible ('R') to a user group or not ('r').
Portlets can be enabled/disabled for all user groups.

CSS

Cascading Style Sheets are used in order format HTML output for the dynamically produced pages of ]project-open[.  The default style sheet used throughout the system is controlled by the parameter SystemCSS below the "intranet-core" grouping of parameters.  The parameter consists of a file pathname to the style sheet.  Default set-up for the parameter is "/intranet/style/style.default.css"  on Linux.

We recommend to anyone wishing to modify the CSS that they do so by copying and pasting the original, and then modify according to suit their needs.  Add the newly modified CSS to "intranet/style/" and then alter the paramter accordingly to point to the new CSS.

Logo

To insert your company's graphic into ]project-open[, the parameter SystemLogo below the "intranet-core" grouping of parameters must be changed.  This parameter consists of a file pathname to the system logo.  Default is "intranet/images/projop-logo.gif".

To reflect your company logo, add the new image file to "intranet/images/" and then change the parameter to point to the new file.  The parameter SystemLogoLink is also useful, and it controls the URL that is associated with logo.  Default is "www.project-open.com".   Simply change the URL the parameter points to and then every mouse click with direct users there.
